On October 13, 2019 three of the biggest brokerages in history dropped their commission fees to zero— something that Robinhood had been doing since 2013. Robinhood undoubtedly seeded this change in what is normally a slow-moving industry and, in response, our team decided to take out a full-page ad in the New York Times. Not to gloat, but to congratulate them for getting it right.
